In 2008, the Stockton Events Center project won the US EPA Region 9 Phoenix Award.
Treadwell & Rollo worked with the Stockton Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) on a downtown waterfront Brownfields development for a baseball stadium, indoor arena, and hotel and retail stores. We performed a multi-parcel, expedited Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study, a Risk Assessment evaluating human health and environmental risk, and a Remedial Action Plan for approval by the DTSC. Previous uses of the parcels included shipbuilding, steel fabrication, automotive repair, dairy distribution, and railyards.
Many of the parcels had soil and groundwater contamination; immediately prior to redevelopment over 100 monitoring and remediation wells were removed. Treadwell & Rollo supervised the site soil and groundwater remediation, which included the excavation and offsite disposal of approximately 5,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil and disposal of 60,000 gallons of impacted groundwater. In addition, our team provided monitoring for unknown conditions.
