At NSC Santa Clara, a Superfund site, Treadwell & Rollo effected a 50% reduction in groundwater extraction well operation, resulting in cost savings with minimal decrease in effectiveness. We have performed indoor air and soil gas testing, health risk assessment, prepared a Remedial Action Plan and gained approval to shut down a soil vapor extraction system. Currently, we are performing pilot tests for chemical oxidation and for microbial dechlorination using vegetable oil.
At the Palo Alto former semiconductor facility, an extraction system has been shut down. Treadwell & Rollo manages the groundwater monitoring program and has conducted an investigation to design and implement a remedial injection program to further reduce VOC concentrations.
At Puyallup, we evaluated prior consultant remedial action and assisted in dismantling of the former extraction system. In addition, we monitored groundwater and worked with regulatory agencies to move towards site closure.
