Treadwell & Rollo performed geotechnical services for the Community Center at the new UCSF campus, a development consisting of a new four-story building with conference, recreational and dining space.  The building is pile-supported, with pile lengths varying from 72 to 90 feet.  We provided recommendations regarding foundations, seismic design and settlement.   We also observed indicator pile installation and provided production pile recommendations.  We observed production pile driving and testing of backfill compaction.

In accordance with Department of Public Health requirements, we also performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Environmental Site Characterization, including preparing a Site History Report.  We collected and tested the soil and groundwater samples, evaluating test results to assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals in soil and groundwater at the site.
