This two-building residential development required environmental and geotechnical services.  Our engineers evaluated seismic hazards, settlement and foundation support. Once we ascertained that there was a potential for liquefaction, Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) was performed to improve the soil sufficiently to mitigate liquefaction potential.  Foundations consist of 140- to 225-foot-long driven steel H-piles.  Throughout construction, our engineers observed site preparation, pile driving, and grading RIC’s impact on site improvement.

The environmental services included a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Environmental Site Characterization.  Our engineers also designed a vapor mitigation system to prevent methane from entering the building, observed installation of the system and prepared an operation and maintenance plan.
