I like seeing projects being built and working with so many different dynamic people.
Inspired by a visit to the new California Academy of Sciences, Kristen desired to learn more about the LEED program and how she could apply those principles in her projects at Treadwell & Rollo. Kristen passed the exam in 2009 and became a LEED Accredited Professional--the first employee at our firm to earn that distinction. As a LEED AP, Kristen can better understand and administer overall project goals when involved in green projects.
On a day-to-day basis Kristen is involved in site investigations and construction observation services on many interesting projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her investigation experience includes coordinating and managing drilling operations for geotechnical investigations, logging soil for exploratory borings and test pits, installing standpipe piezometers and vibrating wire piezometers. Construction experience includes driven piles, micropiles, rammed aggregate piers, torque down piles, tiebacks, soldier pile and lagging walls, footing excavations for shallow foundation systems, and ground improvement operations such as compaction grouting.
Kristen is also a member of Engineers Without Borders, a non-profit humanitarian organization that partners with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life through the implementation of sustainable engineering projects. Through this organization, she is currently working on a composting project in Nicaragua.
